What Photos Do I Need for a Custom Pet Sculpture?

What Photos Do I Need for a Custom Pet Sculpture?

Clear reference photos are one of the most important parts of creating a personalized pet sculpture.

The better we can see your pet’s face, colors, markings, body shape, and distinctive features, the better we can understand the details that make your pet unique.

What Photos Should I Upload?

For the best results, we recommend uploading 2–4 clear photos of your dog or cat from different angles.

Ideally, please include:

  • One clear front-facing photo
  • One side or 45° angle photo
  • One full-body photo whenever possible
  • One additional photo showing important markings or distinctive features

You do not need professional photography. Clear everyday photos are perfectly fine.

1. Front-Facing Photo

A clear front-facing photo helps us understand your pet’s:

  • Face shape
  • Eyes
  • Nose
  • Ear position
  • Facial markings
  • Overall expression

Try to choose a photo where your pet is looking toward the camera and the face is clearly visible.

2. Side or 45° Angle Photo

A side-angle photo helps us understand:

  • Head shape
  • Muzzle length
  • Ear shape
  • Coat texture
  • Body proportions

This is especially helpful for breeds with distinctive facial or body profiles.

3. Full-Body Photo

Whenever possible, include a full-body photo.

This helps us see:

  • Body proportions
  • Leg length
  • Tail
  • Coat pattern
  • Natural posture

If your order focuses mainly on the face or upper body, a full-body photo is still useful as additional reference.

4. Photos Showing Unique Details

If your pet has distinctive features, please include clear photos showing them.

Examples include:

  • Unique coat markings
  • Different-colored eyes
  • Spots or patches
  • Unusual ear shapes
  • Facial markings
  • Tail patterns
  • Collars or accessories you would like included

These small details often make your pet instantly recognizable.

What Makes a Good Reference Photo?

The best reference photos are:

  • Clear and in focus
  • Taken in natural or bright lighting
  • Close enough to clearly see your pet
  • Free from heavy filters
  • Accurate in color
  • Not heavily obstructed by objects, blankets, or clothing

Photos to Avoid

Whenever possible, please avoid:

  • Blurry or low-resolution photos
  • Very dark photos
  • Heavy beauty or color filters
  • Screenshots with poor image quality
  • Photos taken from very far away
  • Photos where the face is heavily covered
  • Photos where important markings cannot be seen

Can You Make a Sculpture From Just One Photo?

Sometimes, yes.

If only one photo is available, we may still be able to create your custom pet figurine if the image is clear enough.

However, multiple photos from different angles are strongly recommended because they provide more information about your pet’s appearance.

What If My Pet Has Passed Away and I Have Limited Photos?

We understand that older or memorial photos may be limited.

If you only have a small number of photos, please upload the clearest images available. Photos taken at different times can also be useful if they show different angles, markings, or features.

We will work with the reference material available and do our best to create a meaningful artistic representation of your pet.

Before You Upload

Before submitting your photos, check that we can clearly see:

  • Your pet’s face
  • Main coat colors
  • Important markings
  • Body shape
  • Any features you especially want us to capture

The clearer your references are, the more information our artists have when creating your personalized sculpture.
